Happy Birthday Shylee!

We had a great time! Now clean up begins. Do I have any volunteers? She is watching Twilight as we speak. She has read the books, and does like the movie, but like all readers have has her opinions of how this or this should have been. Hopefully this friday when she has her party I'm not posting any crazy pix of having TOO much fun!

I love her and all my kids and wish time would slow down a bit. She is growing into the most beautiful blossom of all (Mulan)... These birthdays are pulling on the heart strings a bit more. I realize there is life after they leave the nest, but I'm not ready to fathom that yet!

Birthday Girl!

Guess who is 15 today? Shylee! We haven't had the party yet, but I wanted to post some pics of what's to come. Friday she will be having friends over for a movie and fun. Today she is having her favorite dinner, shrimp alfredo, with some chicken thrown in, garlic bread, salad, the works. Then for her cake, it's cheesecake! She will be watching a movie(she yet has to open:). She has some fun surprises to come, but nothing too big, she wanted to have some cash to shop at "The Mall."

A bit about her begining...

She was born at 5:50 in the morning. She came out screaming her head off! The doctor joked that she didn't need to be spanked, she was out and ticked off about it! Shylee has been fiesty from the begining, even before she left the womb. She has given me a run for my money. But if I knew any 15 year old girl that could survive on the top of a mountain with all my kids (and they would survive too:) it would be her. Instead of the teenage years being harder, with her they are easier than any years before and keep getting better.

Cleaning Powers of Iron and Sulfur?

Enjoy a relaxing bath here at your home away from home. Here you can enjoy the "All Natural" properties of Iron (thus the reddish-brown hue) and Sulfur for their cleansing properties. They will wisk your mind away to thoughts of spewing geysers at Yellowstone National Park. That distinct, oh so very distinct smell....It permiates your senses.

Seriously, it's worse than taking a shower or bath out of a garden hose!!!

This is the result of running out of chlorine. We are the proud owners of a pond and our own water treatment tank in our basement! We are in charge of cleaning our own water. Least to say, we buy drinking water, because if our chlorine gets low or our filters get full, this is happens until we remedy the situation! The water here turns everything orange (ie-see bathtub:). The water out here in Ohio is less then satitisfying! In our area of Southington, the ground is impossible for a well (or so they think:), so everyone has a pond, and yes, that's what you drink out of! I think I have mentioned this in the past. It's not my favorite part of living in a rural area here, about 10 miles away from city water. That's rural, baby!!!

We are use to the water situation, and no one is low on their iron! Which is really impotant for Shy and I:) She would kill me for that! All in all I feel like a terrific mom when I put my sweat-stinky boys in the bath so that they can come out smelling like a geyser! I told Lance it's just switching one bad smell for the other! It's not very often that bad, but the winter has been a lot worse than the summer-it's freezes over and gets anaerobic.

Least to say we use a lot of deliciously smelling products to lather ourselves and our laundry in!!!

Bathtime!!! Just plug your nose and don't expect that fresh feeling:)

Advice from you Stylist...

"Mom I just combed your hair and now it looks like a dude's (hair)." Fisher has been my new hairstylist over the past couple of weeks. He doesn't like it when my hair is messy, which is often. Only a rough-and-tough-boy-hairstylist would come up with this one: "Mom, when you are fighting bad guys, your hair can still look nice."

Rainy Days and Box Days...

It has been raining here for the last couple of days. I don't know if I could get sick of it. It's beautiful! I have so many pictures of the puddles outside because I can't believe that Ohio's ground can actually withstand buildings on it! This ground has got to be the wettest water filled ground I have ever seen! We have ponds, lakes, and small oceans in our yard! Rider was loving it! The boys wanted to eat their lunch in the trampoline box yesterday. They haven't got out of it since! It has been a fort, a hide-out for Buzz Light year and Spider man, among other things. I love it! I say, if your having a bad day, climb in a box, it will brighten your spirits! It works around here!

This Lesson is Drilled In!

Last Thursday Rider sees the drill up on the island in our kitchen. It's a battery operated one, and it's heavy. He goes to pick it up and then it slips through his fingers. Lance Albern watched the whole thing. The drill (Phillips) end goes right through Rider's biggest piggie. It doesn't just poke in, but goes all the way through, there is an exit wound on the other side of his toe! It goes through the back of his nail through his quick (I don't know how to spell that one?). But it pulls up and cracks the nail in half. Fat is bulging out, and it's a bleeder! We take him to the ER. It was handy that dad was working there that night. I didn't have to wait the usual 3 hours! I got to go though the special (back) door and dad took care of him the whole time. We had an X-Ray taken. No waiting...I feel spoiled now! When the X-Ray came back it showed that the drill chipped the tip of his "big piggie" (I think that's proper medical terminology-for moms!) bone and there were fragments that had moved up towards the exit wound, or "the other boo boo." It was nasty! As you can see in the picture it has healed very quickly! He jumped on the trampoline the very next day! I have to say, Rider was feeling spoiled that he could have is very best buddy also be his very best doctor! I really would like to try hard not to HAVE to visit dad at work. But this one worked out just fine!! PS- We are changing the jingle to "this little piggie went to the ER!"

Spring into Action!

I love it! We purchased a trampoline with tax returns. It's finally warm enough (in the teens) and enough snow has melted to put it up! Yah! It's one giant leap for sanity! It's looking a bit more like spring and less like the insanity of cabin fever! Thank you honey!
