I get a call at the end of school. Trapper can't ride the bus, he has a bloody nose. I go and pick him up. He has had a Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. He prides himself on NOT getting into trouble. So when he teased someone and his teacher said "Trapper you teased someone," Trapper had to inflict a sentence upon himself.
So, without hesitation he did what any 7 year old boy in his right mind would do, he punched himself in the nose and gave himself a bloody nose. One consolation is that he doesn't have to hit himself that hard. Trapper gets bloody noses very easily. When we were driving home, I was trying my very best to get him to open up about his day. He wanted to be home schooled. We moved past that.
Then the truth came out. "I don't want to move!" I told him that we wouldn't be moving for a very long time. He said "a year is only 12 months and that is NOT a long time! I told him that we weren't moving after a year. "We always move again after 1 year!" Trapper cried out. I said that we had over 3 years left here. Then he was astounded. "3 years?" "Yep." I said. You will be 11 when we leave. "11?" He couldn't believe it.
You see, Trapper has moved every year that he has been in school. He has been in a different state for each grade! He was thrilled when he learned that he got to stay on for another 3 years! Sometimes the sweetest things are a bit sad too! He broke my heart:)

That is really sad and really funny. Tell him Melanie knows how he feels. She has been in four different elementary schools in her lifetime.
What a good kid (I think) to punch himself in the nose rather than someone else. I remember one time Riley got so mad he bit his own arm. When I asked him why he said he couldn't bite mine!
I'm glad the dog licking = poop face analogy stuck for your kids. I hate my cats sitting on the kitchen table for a similar reason!
